{Editing Note} After discussing this with the other staff members https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Kyle-Long-Jersey , we shall deem this as a open thread. Have fun, responsibly. At long last. After a brutal eight consecutive years of missing the playoffs, their longest such streak in the Chicago Bears’ franchise history, they have clinched a spot in the playoffs as champions of the NFC North. This marks the first time since 2006 when the Bears have clinched the division title playing at home on Soldier Field. What’s more, is they became the latest team to go from worst-to-first within their own division in any two-year span. And damn, does it feel good. I, along with everyone else in the Bears’ fanbase, were all originally told that this team had no shot at winning the division. Instead, rivals such as the Green Bay Packers — who are now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by the way — and the Minnesota Vikings would be the teams declared as rightful rulers. The fans, and this team, denounced that nonsense and stormed forth. Matt Nagy, Ryan Pace, and these reincarnated Monsters of the Midway took back what is rightfully ours. We have ascended to the Iron Throne and assumed the title as Kings of the North. Given the way this season has played out, and based on how this team has been constructed, don’t plan on counting the Bears out of the divisional race any time soon. Naturally Tom Waddle Color Rush Jersey , these Chicago Bears will be contenders for the NFC conference title, too. Oh, and to people like Colin Cowherd who thought the Bears would finish last place again: You know I had to do it...Of course, it takes a team effort to truly become a great team. Outside linebacker Khalil Mack; this entire Bears defense; and the young offense led by quarterback Mitchell Trubisky all still have room to grow as a corps. With Matt Nagy at the helm, backed up by Ryan Pace as general manager, this team has endless potential for greatness. Speaking of Matt Nagy, he is the first coach since the NFL-AFL merger to lead the Bears to a playoff appearance in their first season with Chicago. That includes names like Mike Ditka and Lovie Smith, the only two head coaches to ever reach the Super Bowl with the Bears. History has been in the making all season long in the windy city. No one can possibly predict what will happen next. But rest assure, it’s been a fantastic ride. And, at least for today/tonight, we can finally party. BEAR. DOWN. KINGS OF THE NORTH.Windy City Gridiron picks Bears-Jets Despite losing two straight winnable contests, everything is still in front of the Bears as far as taking care of business in the 2018 season. Win their next two matchups against the Jets and Bills and they’ve put themselves in position for a tight finish in the NFC North down the stretch. Lose either game, and we start talking disappointments. This is where a battle against adversity of a young team learning how to win has to show out. The Bears shouldn’t need Khalil Mack or Allen Robinson to beat an even more banged up Jets squad with a rookie quarterback in Sam Darnold. If they do, everything that’s been said about this Chicago team on paper was always incredibly hollow. Here are Windy City Gridiron’s staff picks for Bears-Jets. Robert Zeglinski: Bears 30 Jets 21 The Jets’ 21st-ranked offense has eight turnovers in their last three games, meaning there’s no better time to rebound for a reeling Bears defense at home. Lester A. Wiltfong Jr.: Bears 28 Jets 14Vic Fangio and the defense is in a funk Sam Acho Jersey , but a rookie quarterback that leads the league in interceptions is enough to shake them out of it.Aaron Leming: Bears 31 Jets 20It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the Bears, and the Jets can be a good team (depending on the week). Despite that, this is as close to a “must-win” as the Bears have had this season and I think they answer the bell. Jacob Infante: Bears 34 Jets 24Despite Chicago’s defensive struggles as of late, they shouldn’t be ineffective to the point that they override their offense’s dominance against the Jets.Josh Sunderbruch: Bears 28 Jets 17I think the Bears find their stride against another struggling team as the offense steadies itself and the defense tightens up.Sam Householder: Bears 28 Jets 17The Bears get back on track with a winnable game against a rookie quarterback and a defense that’s allowed 71 points in their last two games.Andrew Link: Bears 35 Jets 27 I think the Bears offense gets back on track, specifically with Mitchell Trubisky’s errant throws. Fangio has seemingly lost his grasp on game-planning, and that won’t change against a Jets offense that can produce explosive plays. ECD: Bears 38 Jets 20The Bears’ offense has been productive in the passing game in the past three weeks. If they can get the ground game going with Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, this game will be a blowout. Patti Curl: Bears 27 Jets 9Our precious Biscuit still struggles with blitzes and the Jets’ blitz happy ways could give him trouble. But it’s time for a bounce back game for the Bears defense and the Jets offense will be in over its head. WhiskeyRanger: Bears 23 Jets 17Sam Darnold might develop into a good quarterback at some point, but he isn’t one now. The Bears defense should make life difficult for the rookie, though annoying mistakes and poor tackling will probably keep this one closer than it should be.Ken Mitchell: Bears 38 Jets 21Wow, do I really think Chicago’s offense will score 38 points on the Jets? No, I predict a pick-six and or a fumble recovery for a touchdown in there as the Bears defense mauls New York.
